Steps to Upgrade Roblox on Mac
Simply go with these steps.
1. Uninstalling Existing Roblox Version on Mac
- Before you can install the new version of Roblox, delete the old one from your Mac. Before you close the Roblox window, make sure to check if it’s still running in the background of your Mac.
- You can do this by using the Command(⌘) + Option(⌥) + Esc shortcut on your keyboard.
- If the Roblox app is currently running, select it from this window and click on Force Quit to open the Force Quit window on your screen (As shown above)
- This should close the Roblox player on your Mac. To uninstall Roblox from your Mac, open Finder from either the Dock, Launchpad, or Spotlight.
- To locate the Roblox app using Finder, navigate to Applications and find the Roblox app in this folder.
- To get rid of Roblox, right-click or Control-click on the app icon and select Move to Trash.
I also recommend removing Roblox from the trash as well. This will enable you completely eliminate the traces of this app on your mac.
2. Download Roblox
- You will need to download and install Roblox again after removing the current version from your Mac. In order to do that, open Safari or any other compatible web browser on your Mac and go to Roblox.com.
- If the website prompts you to log in, enter your username and password so you can continue.
- Upon logging into Roblox, select any game to install the program. The app that downloads onto your Mac will be uniform no matter which game you choose.
- After opening the game’s page on Roblox, click on the Play button to download the latest version of the Roblox player.
- After the game has loaded, you should now see the “Roblox is now loading” screen. You will be prompted to install the Roblox player on your Mac since there is no current version of Roblox installed.
- A prompt will appear asking you to click on Download and Install Roblox.
- Roblox’s installer can now be downloaded as a DMG file.
3. Installing The Latest Roblox Version
- After Roblox’s installer downloads, open it from your browser’s Downloads section or your Mac’s desktop.
- The Roblox.DMG will open a new folder where the Roblox app is located. Simply double-click on the latter to launch it.
- After opening the Roblox.DMG file, a new folder will appear containing the Roblox app. Double-click to open it.
- A prompt from your macOS will now appear, asking if you trust the app you’re about to open. Click “Open” to continue.
- The installation process will now start, and the “Configuring Roblox” dialog box will appear. Be patient while the progress bar fills up; this indicates that the installation is finishing.
- After installation, a message should display. Click Ok on the box to close the installer.
- The latest version of Roblox can be checked by opening a game on Roblox.com and selecting the Play button.
